Discovered my very first cease and desist letter in my spam folder :-) where it had been simmering for a very long time - what can I say, I don't check my spam folder very often.
I feel very strongly that any owner of any brand of scuba regulator should be able to buy spare parts and service kits, and also have access to any manuals required to safely work on his or hers own property. Just like any car owner who can go out and buy spare parts and work on his car - a piece of machinery that has the potential to injure or kill many more people than a simple piece of equipment like a scuba regulator will ever be capable of.
Regarding professional servicing of scuba regulators i wholeheartedly agree that any professional working on scuba regulators should be certified to work on the regulator in question. But as I said before any private person should be allowed, and have access to the tools needed, to work on his personally owned equipment.
Needless to say the that I will remove the manuals by the company in question when they are made freely available to anyone. Registration required or not I'll leave that up to the manufacturers.
Help make this possible by requesting access to any manuals and material to work on your own personal scuba regulators.
